Mark A. Matza, MD, MBA, RhMSUS is the Clinical Director of Rheumatology, the Medical Director of the Medical Infusion Center, and the Director of the Giant Cell Arteritis Fast Track Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and both MD and MBA degrees from Georgetown University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and his fellowship in rheumatology at MGH. He has interests in giant cell arteritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, inflammatory arthritis, crystalline disease, IgG4-related disease, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He partakes in clinical trials in giant cell arteritis and polymyalgia rheumatica. He has a special interest in the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis and started the Fast-Track GCA Program at MGH in 2019. He is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound through the American College of Rheumatology (RhMSUS).
